The police have identified the victim of an elephant attack at Otjorute village last week as Pau Kanyome, a 48-year-old Angolan national employed as a domestic worker. It is alleged that the deceased was chasing an elephant out of the Mahangu field with two other people from neighbouring houses. After some time, the elephant left the Mahangu field, charged at the trio, caught up with Kanyome, and trampled him, killing him instantly.
