I think Miss Eveline may have used up at least one of her lives and she is still only a newborn. Human Stacey was up and around at 1am the other morning when she saw a bat get hit by a car. It may sound odd but we quite often get calls for flying-foxes on the ground after coming off second best following a barney with another bat. With a large fruiting mango tree in the backyard, the kind home owner found Miss Margo covered in ants this morning and after covering her with a box, Mr Batzilla rescued her late this afternoon. Following a long, hot summer we are desperately in need of rain and with very little local flowering our bats are feeling the pinch. No rain means very little blossom and bats start coming into care underweight and they are trapped more often in large aperture fruit tree netting in a desperate search for food.
