#OTD in 1955, the Emmett Till trial in Tallahatchie County ended with a not-guilty verdict for Roy Bryant and J.W. Milam. Months later, the two confessed in Look Magazine to kidnapping and murdering Till. Despite the acquittal, Mamie Till-Mobley continued to advocate for civil rights in memory of her son.
