Can you mix Engine Oil??? QuickSilver and Penzoil 2 stroke?
Feb 15, 2012 · The guy who I just bought my boat from has always used basic Penzoil 2 stroke Premium TC-W3 oil. It's got about 1/4 tank in it and I was about to add a gallon of Quicksilver Premium that I had. Purely coincidentally, we ended up on the phone tonight and oil came up (weird I know). But, he said, "oh yean, I use that penzoil, non-synthetic oil.

Feb 25, 2017 · btw --i was told that dye was not needed ----the mercury dfi oil does show up under ultraviolet light --works like a charm --glows kinda orange so im gonna put it back together with all the cowling cleaned up --run it a while --verify that the pump is the leak via uv light -- and replace as recommended

Is there a difference in 2 cycle oils? what to use?
Jun 25, 2024 · The Optimax needs to run a DFI specific oil. If it were a regular carb 2 stroke any TCW3 2 stroke oil would be fine (including Walmart), but you want the Mercury or the quicksilver DFI oil, it’s gold in color. I think west marine has a DFI specific oil too, but it’s green (or at least it was last time I bought it)
