Severe winter weather could spark travel misery millions of Americans as a major winter storm is forecast to hit four U.S. states, dumping up to 3 feet of snow during the Thanksgiving holiday period. It is set to sweep across the Northern Plains, Upper Midwest, and Great Lakes region, producing high winds and hazardous travel conditions.
Periods of whiteout and life-threatening driving conditions will be possible across Michigan's Upper Peninsula, as well as places downwind of Lakes Erie and Ontario in Ohio, western Pennsylvania and western New York,
Some areas of the state could see nearly 3 feet of snow with this winter storm. But it's the high wind gusts blowing all that snow around that are going to cause a problem on our roads.

Mostly clear skies are expected tonight as temperatures drop into the mid to upper teens across western Nebraska with a forecast low of 15 degrees in North Platte.
