KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Good morning and happy Sunday! It is a cold start to the day with temperatures in the teens and low 20s. With these cold temperatures, be mindful of any refreezing that occurred overnight as there could be slick spots on roads and bridges. This trend of frigid mornings will be here through Tuesday before a slight warm-up.

A weak area of low pressure that developed over the Plains had enough moisture and cold air to produce the first measurable snowfall of the season from communities in Kansas to the Ohio Valley. A narrow band of snow formed over the Interstate 70 corridor dropping anywhere from 1-6" of snow and making travel slick.

A cold snap has gripped the Kansas City area causing temperatures to plunge across the metro, the National Weather Service said. “Below normal temperatures are expected today (Friday) through Monday,” the weather service said.

Our next small snow chance comes late Sunday night into early Monday morning, mainly across northern and central Missouri.
