Despite a brilliant 39-point performance from Stephen Curry, who returned from a quad injury, the Warriors lost 127-120 to the Wolves after allowing 39 fourth-quarter points.
Warriors star Stephen Curry, who has missed the past five games because of a bruised thigh, is expected to return Friday against the Wolves.
Over the last seven games, the Warriors are yielding fewer than 1.07 points per possession, and Golden State has given up 1.02 points per possession or fewer in four of the last five outings. Those numbers will likely level off at some point, but Golden State does have reason to believe its defense is capable of lofty performance.
Stephen Curry showed no lingering effects from the quad injury that sidelined him for five games, returning Friday night with a familiar jolt to the Warriors’ offense.
Golden State is waiving rookie forward Alex Toohey, the team announced Monday afternoon. League sources had previously confirmed the move to the Bay Area News Group. Toohey was selected No. 52 overall out of Australia and was part of the massive seven-team trade that saw Kevin Durant go to the Rockets.
