It’s blockbuster deal that establishes the Wild as legitimate Stanley Cup contenders. The thought of adding Hughes to an already talented core should have everybody salivating at the potential damage this group can do once the playoffs roll around. So why was it met with so much backlash on social media?
In one of the biggest trades in NHL history, Minnesota acquired the Norris Trophy-winning star captain from Vancouver.
The Devils came in second place for Quinn Hughes. The 26-year-old superstar Canucks defenseman — who is brothers with Devils players Jack and Luke Hughes — was shockingly dealt to the Minnesota Wild on Friday. Going to Vancouver in the deal is Marco Rossi, Zeev Buium, Liam Ohgren and a first round pick, Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman reported.
As the New Jersey Devils explore their options to acquire the eldest brother, Quinn Hughes, the Vancouver Canucks are reportedly asking for more out of the Devils.
