Former Missouri quarterback Brady Cook earned his first NFL start Sunday for the New York Jets in their 48-20 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Cook completed 22 of his 33 pass attempts for 176 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions. He also rushed for 39 yards on six carries.
Cook's celebration was understated. He knocked helmets and slapped hands with his teammates. In fact, Cook may have been too chill about the whole thing. Despite throwing his first NFL touchdown pass, Cook ran off the field without securing the football.
QB Brady Cook delivered a strong first-quarter performance highlighted by an 8-play, 65-yard scoring drive. Cook threw his first career NFL TD pass, to Adonai Mitchell ,and finished the first stanza 6-of-6 passing for 51 yards, 1 TD and a 141.7 passer rating. The Jets picked up 4 first downs and converted both third-down attempts.
