Republican U.S. Senator John Cornyn told reporters on Thursday that he "absolutely" wants to review an unreleased congressional ethics report on Matt Gaetz, President-elect Donald Trump's nominee for attorney general.

Republican senators are preparing for a robust vetting of Matt Gaetz, President-elect Donald Trump's pick to lead the Justice Department, with a keen interest in details from a House Ethics Committee investigation into the former congressman from Florida.

"I think there should not be any limitations on the Senate Judiciary Committee's investigation, including whatever the House Ethics Committee has generated," Cornyn said.
