LSU right-hander Chase Shores was selected No. 47 overall Sunday night in the second round of the MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Angels.

Shores is ranked as the No. 77 overall draft prospect by MLB Pipeline, ranked No. 27 by Baseball Prospectus, rated No. 68 by ESPN and ranked No. 86 by Baseball America. The first 105 picks will be announced on Sunday night so there’s a good chance Shores will be selected somewhere in the first three rounds if the rankings are accurate.
