Former Alabama basketball player Darius Miles will stand trial on capital murder charges with proceedings to begin the week of Dec. 1. The date was set by Tuscaloosa judge Daniel F. Pruet and takes place two years after Miles was arrested in connection with the shooting death of Jamea Harris.

Davis was convicted of capital murder by a Tuscaloosa jury in May 2025 after a five-day trial and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. If Miles is convicted, he faces the same sentence, since the state is not pursuing the death penalty.

The 23-year-old is accused of “aiding and abetting” his co-defendant and faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole if convicted.
