In the first episode of Netflix’s new murder mystery, Untamed, a woman plummets to her death off of El Capitan —the famous vertical rock formation in Yosemite National Park. Her death is subsequently investigated by the National Parks Service’s Kyle Turner, portrayed by Eric Bana.
As a skilled hunter, Maguire chases Turner through the forest, waiting for him to slow down as he bleeds out. Eventually, Turner collapses and starts to lose consciousness as Maguire finds him and points a gun at his head. But before he can pull the trigger, Maguire is shot and killed by Vasquez, who had secretly followed Turner to the campsite.
Despite strong efforts from Eric Bana and Sam Neill, Netflix's Western whodunit miniseries Untamed is a predictable, tedious disappointment.

Newsweek reached out to a Netflix spokesperson via email for comment. Although Untamed takes place in Yosemite, the show was actually filmed in British Columbia, according to the Los Angeles Times. Eric Bana, who stars as Kyle Turner in the show, described filming in the wilderness in an interview with the outlet.
