Josh Allen, rushing touchdown and Bills
Digest more
Allen took a career-worst eight sacks as the Bills fell to a fourth loss in seven games after a gruesome display in Houston.
The Texans’ ferocious defense prevented the Bills’ offense from getting in any sort of rhythm. A 45-yard touchdown run by James Cook on the team’s first possession of the game was the only offensive touchdown Buffalo scored all night. The Bills’ other points came on a 97-yard kickoff return by Ray Davis and two Matt Prater field goals.
Allen was hit with a $14,491 fine, while Moore was fined $13,888 for a similar action on the same play. Additionally, cornerback Christian Benford was fined $14,714 for an unnecessary roughness violation on a play, in which he was ruled to have used his helmet illegally when he hit Kansas City receiver Xavier Worthy.
The Houston Texans showed why they have the best defense in the NFL, holding off Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills for a 23-19 win Thursday night. Houston sacked Allen eight times, forced three takeaways, a fumble and two interceptions, largely thanks to the efforts of Calen Bullock, Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter.
