Elon Musk is so desperate to be buddies with JD Vance that he’s quietly abandoning his plans to launch a new political party, according to the Wall Street Journal. The billionaire Tesla and SpaceX CEO threatened to create what he called the America Party amid a bitter feud with President Donald Trump earlier this summer.

Vance continued: “This idea that Gavin Newsom is somehow gonna mimic Donald Trump’s style ― I think that ignores the fundamental genius of President Trump’s political success, which is that he’s authentic,” he said. “Don’t be a crazy person, be authentic.”
