Kelly lawsuit states that LSU “repeatedly confirmed” that Kelly’s firing was not for cause. LSU claims that it fired Kelly for cause, rather than for the team’s performance.

The LSU Board of Supervisors approved a motion Friday regarding a lawsuit filed by former head football coach Brian Kelly. Kelly was fired following the loss to Texas A&M. Kelly sued LSU over his contract, saying he was never formally terminated and that the university was not honoring the terms of his $54 million contract.
