A former West Jordan Police officer has been sentenced to over 100 years in prison for sexually abusing two young children.

Prosecutors said Antawan Lavelle Fields Jr. pleaded guilty to multiple felonies involving sex crimes against a child.

A federal judge ended a consent decree that was triggered by excessive use of solitary confinement, pepper spray at the Lincoln Hills youth prison.

Liam Conejo Ramos “has stomach pain, he’s vomiting, he has a fever, and he no longer wants to eat,” his mother said.

The girl's mother and grandmother were arrested last January, and the grandmother later died in custody. The mother was released and charges are pending, police say.
