KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Voters on both sides of the state line are headed to the polls today. Polls opened at 6 a.m. in Missouri. One of the biggest issues on the ballot on the Missouri side is in Independence.
Voters in Kansas and Missouri can expect a dry, warm, and windy day as they head to the polls for local and special elections on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures are expected to climb into the mid-70s under sunny skies — well above the metro’s average temperature of 59 degrees, which is typical for early November.
"What really makes a difference in their day-to-day life are the folks they are electing during their municipal and school board elections," Gov. Laura Kelly said.
