The House minority leader has called for Congress to provide “maximum protection” to House Democrats and their families.

WASHINGTON - House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., condemned Thanksgiving Day threats against Democratic lawmakers that ranged from “detailed threats of a pipe bomb placed in mailboxes to swatting” in a statement on Friday.

Multiple House Democrats including the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee said Thursday they were the targets of bomb threats. Why it matters: The development comes after a spate of bomb and "swatting" threats against President-elect Trump's nominees earlier this week – none of which were found to be credible.
