Amandeep Singh-Bola, a 34-year-old Indian-origin man who helped restrain Sajid Akram, one of the alleged shooters of the Bondi Bseach attack in Australia, said he wanted to help bring one of the assailants down and assist anyone who needed help.

Indian police said on Tuesday that one of the two gunmen behind Australia's Bondi Beach mass shootings, Sajid Akram, was an Indian citizen who had left the country 27 years ago.

The attack in Bondi Beach was carried out by a father and son, and according to authorities, appeared to have been inspired by Islamic State, Reuters reported.

Members of the Akram family in Old Hyderabad city said they severed relations with Sajid Akram after he married a Christian woman, a decision that reportedly led to a complete breakdown of family ties.
