Rashee Rice was spotted wearing friendship bracelets during the Chiefs’ preseason game agianst the Chicago Bears.

While there have been reports that the league was seeking a suspension of at least 10 games for Rice’s role in the incident — for which he recently pleaded guilty to two charges in exchange for a five-year probation and a 30-day jail sentence — Schefter said that the league’s position wasn’t quite that tough.

According to an ESPN NFL insider, the league is pushing to suspend Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice for a lengthy period of time.

But any NFL punishment apparently won’t come for at least six weeks. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Thursday that Rice should be available to play in the Chiefs’ first four games.

Rashee Rice is expected to have his disciplinary hearing with the NFL on Sept. 30 after being involved in a high speed multi-car crash in Dallas that left multiple people injured in March 2024.

With his hearing set for Sept. 30, Rice is unlikely to face discipline for his role in a 2024 car crash until after the first four games.
