An atmospheric river will bring periods of heavy rainfall and wind over parts of western Washington through Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. Rainfall will be heaviest over the Olympics and Cascades, the forecast says.

An atmospheric river of moisture is bringing rain and wind to the Pacific Northwest starting late Friday night. The National Weather Service estimates nearly 2 inches of precipitation could hit the Rose City between 4 a.m. Saturday and 4 a.m. Tuesday, with some spots along the Oregon Coast nearing 4 inches.

Several rounds of widespread rain is expected this weekend and early next week, boosting February rain totals. Once the rain passes, we get a taste of Spring late next week with highs forecast in the 60s!
