The community of Piedmont came together Thursday morning for its annual Turkey Trot event which was in essence a memorial for three young adults killed in a horrific crash of a Tesla Cybertruck on Wednesday.

"The community really loved them. They brought a lot of energy and a lot of spirit to the community and I feel like it's only fitting that people show their respect." The Thanksgiving Turkey Trot in Piedmont was rerouted so people could pay their respects to the three young adults who were killed in a crash.

Piedmont Mayor Jen Cavanaugh hugged residents during the city’s annual Thanksgiving Turkey Trot footrace as the small community struggled to understand the devastating crash that killed three young residents early Wednesday.
