A lake-effect snow warning and winter weather advisory are now in effect across Northeast Ohio as heavy snow, blowing snow and poor visibility threaten travel throughout the weekend.

The snow started in the early afternoon and has been falling since. As of this writing (6:30 P.M. Saturday) steady snow is hitting the area and road crews have been working hard to keep the streets clear which has required repeated plowing.
