The New Orleans Saints and the Denver Broncos will face off in the 2025 preseason finale for both clubs when they meet at the Caesars Superdome on Saturday, Aug. 23 at 12:00 p.m. CT.

A lot of roster projections have the Broncos keeping five safeties. Brandon Jones, Talanoa Hufanga, P.J. Locke, and J.L. Skinner are often the top four listed. Those I agree with. The fifth is usually Devon Key.

There’s little path to a roster spot for Mathis, at this point. The Broncos have perhaps the best five-deep of cornerbacks — Pat Surtain II, Riley Moss, Ja’Quan McMillian, Jahdae Barron and Kris Abrams-Draine — in the NFL. Slowly, over the course of his rookie deal in Denver, Mathis has gotten phased out of a role.
