The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal is not impressed by what he described as "preposterous" rumors that the Boston Red Sox will consider trading Alex Bregman this season.

Alex Bregman is making his long-awaited return to the Red Sox lineup against the Tampa Bay Rays Friday night. Boston’s star infielder missed the last 43 games with a right quad strain and has worked tirelessly to get back on the diamond before MLB’s All-Star break.

Bregman's contract, relationship with his teammates and the Red Sox's current playoff position make it very unlikely he'll be dealt in July.
