British Prime Minister Keir Starmer returns to the House of Commons to brief MPs on his recent meeting with US President Donald Trump and yesterday's defense summit in London.

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse weighed in on the tense exchange between President Trump and Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, applauding European allies for uniting behind Ukraine and opposing Putin, calling it “where we should be.” He also outlined what comes next as the House and Senate work to reconcile their competing budget bills.

It also puts further pressure on European allies as they scramble to find a common position and fill the void left by Washington. Prior to Zelenskiy, French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer visited Washington to push Trump to offer US support for a European “backstop” to protect Ukraine from further attacks.
