Trump Sues BBC for $10 Billion in Defamation Lawsuit After Broadcaster Refused to Pay Him $1 Billion
President Donald Trump has filed a defamation lawsuit against the BBC and is suing the broadcaster for $10 billion. He previously accused them of deceptively editing his Jan. 6, 2021, speech in a documentary that aired days before the 2024 presidential election.
Britain launched a review into the BBC's funding on Tuesday, seeking to "future-proof" the broadcaster which is reeling from a lawsuit launched by U.S. President Donald Trump.
The suit seeks $5 billion in damages for each of the two counts listed—one count of defamation and one count of violating a Florida trade practices law.
