Congress has officially received the first batch of Jeffrey Epstein files. The Justice Department turned over a tranche of materials related to the case against the late, convicted sex offender Friday afternoon, according to a person aware of the development and granted anonymity to share private information.

The first wave of documents, related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, has been delivered to a House oversight committee.

Rep. James Comer said Monday that documents should start being turned over on Friday—though when they could be released to the public remains unclear.
