After the game, coach Dave Cannales said it appears to be a right elbow sprain and he will be evaluated tomorrow. Canales said Dalton told him he was fine.

After a sour showing from quarterback Bryce Young and the starting offense, backup Andy Dalton came in on the team's third possession during their preseason matchup against the Houston Texans. But the veteran lasted just that one drive, as he was removed with what the Panthers announced as a right elbow injury.

The Panthers are preparing for their third preseason game, and they’ll have an extra arm on the depth chart to see them through the schedule.
