The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch at 2:36 p.m. EST on Thursday valid from Saturday 7 a.m. EST until Sunday 10 a.m. EST for Muskegon and Ottawa counties.

A southwest wind will carry significant lake-effect snow into portions of Muskegon, Ottawa and Oceana counties Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning.

Freezing rain warning kicks off varied Ottawa forecast
Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Friday morning, mainly in the Ottawa North, Kanata and Orleans regions. The rain and/or drizzle could mix with ice pellets or snow at times and leave a “light ice accumulation (on) some surfaces through the morning,” the forecast indicates.
