In the release of the first rankings of the College Football Playoff on Tuesday night, coach Ryan Day and his unbeaten Ohio State Buckeyes topped the list, followed by Big Ten foe Indiana at No. 2 with Texas A&M third and Alabama landing at four.

Ohio State claimed the No. 1 spot in the initial rankings released by the College Football Playoff committee on Tuesday night, with Big Ten rival Indiana right behind at No. 2.

This marked the first of six weekly rankings the committee will release this season, ending Dec. 6 when the final list will set the bracket for college football’s 12-team playoff.
