Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said Trump will decide Tuesday afternoon whether to proceed with, reduce or postpone tariff plans that have been on hold.

All three Detroit automakers, along with others, build vehicles in Canada and Mexico that would face tariffs imposed by Trump.

Trump had threatened to impose tariffs in February before suspending them when Mexico sent troops to the border to crack down on drug trafficking and illegal immigration.
