Russian missiles and drones struck Kyiv, Dnipro and Kharkiv early on Tuesday, killing at least five people and injuring dozens. The assault came after repeated warnings of a larger strike and sent residents into shelters across much of Ukraine.

Russia launched a large-scale aerial attack against Ukraine overnight on June 2, targeting Kyiv with missile and drone fire.

Ukraine has expanded its mid- and long-range strike capabilities, deploying drone and missile technology that it has developed domestically to battle Russia’s 4-year-old invasion. Attacks on Russian oil assets that play a key part in funding the invasion have become almost daily occurrences.
