By Michael Erman NEW YORK, Dec 2 (Reuters) - Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s vaccine advisers will vote this week on whether to delay hepatitis B shots for most American children, the new chair of the committee said,

The vaccine advisory committee of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is scheduled to meet Dec. 4 and 5. On the agenda: the hepatitis B vaccine, the overall childhood vaccine schedule and specific vaccine ingredients.

Nearly all of the living ex-agency commissioners contributed to the joint statement.

The new law shows how blue states are trying to counter Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s skeptical approach to vaccines.

Other research reinforced the relationship between shingles vaccines and dementia. In 2024, a study of 200,000 U.S. older adults showed the recombinant subunit zoster vaccine (Shingrix) was associated with a larger reduction in dementia risk than the live zoster vaccine.
