What does Earth look like from the vantage point of Artemis II's astronauts? NASA released a handful of images on Friday of Earth, taken from space by Commander Reid Wiseman and others aboard the Orion spacecraft as they continue to make their way towards the moon's orbit.

The engine firing provided a slingshot-like boost to the Orion capsule, speeding it up to some 25,000 mph, the velocity needed to break free of Earth's gravitational clasp for a trek to the moon.

The FTS is designed to safely stop the rocket if it veers off its planned path.
