A Connecticut Lottery player won the top prize of $100,000 from a game of Cash 5 in Monday's drawing, according to Connecticut Lottery.

The Connecticut Lottery offers several draw games for those willing to make a bet to win big. Those who want to play in Connecticut can enter the CT Lotto, Lucky for Life and Cash 5 games as well as play the national Powerball and Mega Millions games.

The winning ticket was sold at Thompson Xtra Mart on 9 Woodstock Road in Thompson, according to the CT Lottery’s website.

In addition to securing toys for children, the initiative serves to remind people not to gift lottery tickets to kids during the holiday season.
