In a stunning twist, fill-in driver Parker Kligerman won the NASCAR Xfinity race at Daytona while Connor Zilisch watched on from the pit box. Zilisch started the race, but Kligerman took over during the first caution period. He then drove a perfect race, going from last to first to claim — then accidentally snap — the checkered flag in celebration.
Following his crash two weeks ago, Connor Zilisch started the Xfinity Wawa 250 at Daytona before being subbed in for by Parker Kligerman. In his first Xfinity start of 2025, Kligerman pulled off his first career win in his first year of retirement from full-time racing.
Parker Kligerman saw his opening, a sliver of daylight, and he shot the gap. He put that No. 88 exactly where it needed to be, holding off the hard-charging field in a breathtaking dash to the finish line. The roar from the crowd was deafening.
