After 28 seasons, The Voice is still hitting all the right notes. The hit singing competition first premiered on NBC in April 2011 with Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton in the coaches’ chairs. Following season 3, Aguilera and Green exited the series and were replaced by Shakira and Usher.
Horan assured the audience that he was “feeling a little bit better” and said he was “glad to be” at the finale, but noted that it had been a “rough couple of weeks.” He did not specify the illness he was battling, but revealed why he would not be able to hit the stage with his finalists on Night 2.
