This week on NXT, Thea Hail shocked the world when she defeated Blake Monroe and became the NXT Women’s North American Champion. As seen on TV (video here), Hail and Monroe were both surprised and shocked.
Blake Monroe is no longer the NXT Women’s North American Champion, but according to multiple reports, that outcome was not the original plan.
The match between Rodriguez and Vaquer did not have a clear winner due to the fact that WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella interfered and attacked both of them. Nikki was out for revenge after losing a title match to Vaquer and after Raquel took her out one week earlier on Raw.
Now, WWE has leaned into the title change by plastering it all over socials/YouTube/their official website and running with it. They didn't really have a choice there, but it's believed a rematch is incoming that'll put things right. That could well happen at NXT's New Year's Evil show on 6 January 2026.
