Dallas police were involved in a shooting Wednesday morning in Old East Dallas, officials said. The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately clear. It took place in the 3000 block of Fairview Avenue, where a police public information officer was sent to brief reporters, according to a department statement posted on X.

Dallas Police said it would release body-worn camera video on Tuesday from an officer-involved shooting over the weekend in Deep Ellum.

The suspect is believed to have fired two AR-15-style rifles at three officers, and his criminal complaint document says he was in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves for five years.

Ten people were arrested and face three attempted murder charges and three discharging a firearm during a violent act charges, according to court records.

The officer was shot in the neck on Friday, the night of the Fourth of July, after reporting to the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, about 40 miles (65 kilometers) southwest of Dallas. He was treated at a hospital and released, the Johnson County Sheriff’s office said.
