As crews work through storm damage in state parks, forests and trails a clearer picture is forming on how hundreds of downed trees may affect Northern Michigan’s summer recreation. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources updated its closure page and released a list of five state forest campgrounds they expect will have a delayed opening.

Presque Isle Electric & Gas Co-op, which serves a nine-county region in northeast Michigan, said 12,929 of its more than 31,000 customers were still in the dark at noon Monday. Power restoration had reached 63%, according to its website.
