The crash happened at around 2 a.m. on Sunday about 10 miles up Pacific Coast Highway, where the road is narrow and the cliffs steep.

The rescue started around 4:15 p.m. Monday after the driver contacted authorities about the Saturday crash, saying two people were inside at the time.

Authorities launched a search for a missing person Monday afternoon after learning that a car tumbled down a steep cliff near Point Mugu two days earlier.

Authorities are still searching for one of the three people there were inside of a car that veered off the side of a Malibu road over the weekend. Jeff Nguyen provides the latest information in the ongoing investigation.
