I t's one of my favorite drives, leading to one of Hawaii 's most distinctive towns. Surrounded by a rainforest, the small town of Volcano on the Island of Hawaii sits on the slopes of Kilauea volcano, right outside Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, at a cool 4,000 feet elevation.
