Tens of thousands of people have gathered in Beirut to attend the funeral of Hezbollah’s leader nearly five months after he was killed in an Israeli airstrike on a southern suburb of the capital.

Tens of thousands are expected to attend the funeral of slain Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah on Sunday in Beirut, in a mass ceremony aimed at signalling strength after a 14‑month war with Israel left the group in tatters.

Thousands of supporters of the longtime leader of Lebanon’s militant Hezbollah group have flown into Beirut for Hassan Nasrallah’s funeral this weekend.

A lawyer for Luigi Mangione, the man accused of fatally gunning down U.S. health insurance executive Brian Thompson in December, told a judge Friday that her client was illegally searched during his arrest and she would seek to exclude that evidence from his trial on state murder and terrorism charges.

One of the founding members of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah was elected secretary-general a decade later after Israel killed his predecessor. 5 months after his killing, millions are participating in his funeral.
