A dog that was abandoned by its previous owner ahead of Hurricane Milton has been adopted into a loving new family.

TAMPA, Fla. (KAKE) — The dog found tied to a pole just hours before Hurricane Milton made landfall in October now has a new home. The dog – fittingly named ‘Trooper’ after being rescued by Florida State Troopers – was found along I-75 on October 9 tied to a fence while standing in a deep puddle.

So Trooper found a new home in Parkland, Florida, where he now has a Bull Terrier sister named Dallas. It’s as heartwarming of an ending as you could hope for, and based on this video below, Trooper could not have ended up in a better home with better dog parents.

The five-year-old Bull terrier captured the hearts of those both near and far. Since then, the dog made national headlines.
