The Stephen King adaptation wrapped up its first season on HBO last night with plenty of mayhem and a few plot contortions.
With season 1 now over, fans are already wondering when we'll get to see IT: Welcome to Derry season 2 on our screens. According to the show's executive producer Barbara Muschietti, the wait for new episodes shouldn't be too long, but it's ultimately up to HBO.

The HBO prequel horror-drama ended its season 1 finale with a few special guests. A flash-forward takes us 26 years after Pennywise was put to rest, so just one year before the events of the first It movie. We find a now-elderly Ingrid Kersh, portrayed by It Chapter Two actress Joan Gregson.
Pennywise was always going to slither away for another 27-year slumber, but boy did he wave good-bye with gusto.
Marge won't return in the next season, as we're going back in time, but we know she plays a massive role in the franchise's future. In the finale, Pennywise reveals that one day she will have a son named Richie, and that he will be one of the people that kills It.
HBO Max's prequel series is the first Stephen King TV series adaptation with a 4K Blu-ray edition in the US.
