Luka Doncic led the Los Angeles Lakers to a huge win on Saturday night, scoring 32 points and recording 10 rebounds to beat the Denver Nuggets, 123-100. Late Februrary wins rarely mean much in the NBA but this felt different for the Lakers.

It took Luka Doncic only one quarter Saturday to match his highest scoring output from his first three games with the Los Angeles Lakers, tallying 16 points while L.A. built an early lead on the Denver Nuggets.

Winners of 13 of their last 14 against the Lakers and eight consecutive head-to-head matchups at home, the Nuggets (37-20) were taken out of their comfort zone by a new-look Los Angeles roster. Anthony Davis was the player cashed in for Doncic, but somehow it was the Lakers’ defense that affected the hosts most. Denver shot 40% from the floor.
