Canada is dropping many of its retaliatory tariffs to match U.S. exemptions under the USMCA, Prime Minister Mark Carney announced Friday.

President Trump said he spoke to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, who told him he would remove some of the retaliatory tariffs against the United States and calm trade tensions between the neighboring nations.

Canada is officially dropping its 25% retaliatory tariffs on a wide list of U.S. consumer goods that meet the terms of the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement, in an attempt to cool things down with the Trump White House.
