Silva (4-2, 3 KOs) continued his transition into professional boxing on Friday by stopping fellow former UFC champion Tyron Woodley (0-3, 0 KOs) in Round 2 of their cruiserweight bout inside the Kaseya Center in Miami. The scheduled six-round bout took place on the undercard of Jake Paul-Anthony Joshua.
The fight came to an end in the second round on Friday's Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua undercard, when Silva appeared to fake a knee strike (yes, really), then leveled Woodley with a series of right hooks. Woodley tried to bear-hug Silva on his way down, but fell and did not continue after his corner waved the towel.
Anderson Silva steps back into a boxing ring on Friday night. He will take on Tyron Woodley. Both made names for themselves in a different combat sport: mixed martial arts. Silva is 3-2 as a boxer, holding wins over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
As Jake Paul licks his wounds and recovers from the broken jaw he suffered in Friday's knockout loss against Anthony Joshua in their heavyweight bout, the former YouTube star should be proud of himself.
Many boxing fans took to social media to react to Anthony Joshua's decisive win over Jake Paul. Here are the best reactions.
